School Lunch

Don't they deserve a healthy homemade school lunch?

F or most of us, school mornings are a mad house. A hectic schedule of eat your breakfast, get dressed, brush your teeth and many sibling battles along the way.

You know what I mean “Mom, she won’t stop annoying me, well Mom he wont give me the cereal” and the baby is crying from all the yelling. Does this sound familiar?

At this stage nobody has their uniform on yet, let alone found their school bag, or their hat and meanwhile mom is throwing together something for school lunches and time is slipping away.

The opposite is true too of course. Many kids get up each morning nice and happy, loving their siblings, and get ready without any dramas; allowing mom to pack them a nice homemade school lunch – however this not as common.

So here at homemade school lunches, you’ll find some easy healthy lunches you can make quickly and easily. You can make most of your kids lunches on the weekend, make extra and put them in the freezer. Buy some nice fresh bread rolls from the baker and a selection of fillings from the deli. Whatever their preference is, ham, chicken, silverside, you get the idea. Then make up a selection of sandwiches, bread rolls or wraps. This will help break up the boring run of sandwiches everyday.

For the snack break, you can have a baking day with your kids and bake several different snacks to then wrap in plastic wrap and put into the freezer. There are lots of healthy kids snacks they will choose over packaged junk when given the choice.

Then it is as easy as open up the lunch box, open the freezer, place in one of each selection and a piece of fruit. This can save so much time each morning. Relieving some of the stress and giving Mom more time to organize the kids allowing the morning to run more smoothly rather than organized kaos.

Thanks for the words of encouragement Pauline. Sorry your comment wasn’t approved earlier, we’ve been away for the last 3 months traveling. I’ll be certain to get back into it very soon. I’ve collected some great new content and I’m keen to share it with everyone.
