Cookie Dough Baking

Make your own cookie dough at home, then bake it. No preservatives, no additives, you know all the ingredients. This simple cookie dough is so versatile you can make lots of favourites at once. They are all freezable. So make a couple of batches, one for afternoon tea and one batch you can put into snack size portions and freeze.

The kids will love these. Make the cookie dough together, let them decorate their own cookies. This makes snacks a real winner in the lunch box. You know that your kids will eat these cookies as they helped make them. They will tell their friends that they made them and feel really proud. You may even get request from your kids friends to send more.


Ingredients

6 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup castor sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 & 3/4 cups self raising flour
pinch salt

Lets Get Baking!

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a cookie tray with baking paper.

Beat butter and sugar to a cream.

Add lightly beaten egg and vanilla then beat for another minute until well combined.

Sift flour and salt together.

Add flour to creamed mixtures and mix well to form a stiff dough.

This is a the time for you to decide what you want to do with it.

Chocolate Chip Cookies – roll dough, use cookie cutters and add chocolate chips

Heart Cookies – roll dough, use a heart cookie cutter then add heart candies on top

100 & 1000 Cookies – roll dough, use cookie cutter of your choice and then sprinkle over with 100’s and 1000’s.
