Kids love a healthy lunch
Studies have proven that for children to maximize their ability to learn they must have a balanced diet. This means eating a healthy balanced meal three times a day, including their school lunch. Now on school days this is where we need to help our kids, by giving them healthy lunches.
So what do we put into our kids lunch box to give them a balanced diet? Then the next question is how do manage to do this day after day? Time in the mornings is not something we have a lot of. With all members of the household trying to get up, dressed, fed and packed for the day is a hard enough task without trying to pack a healthy balanced homemade school lunch to go.
Well the easiest way is to follow the food pyramid. For the most part give bread in the form of either sliced whole grain or a roll with meat or poultry and perhaps some cheese. Give them a piece of fruit with a yogurt and lastly to have that balance it is alright to provide a little sweet. Like a homemade cup cake or cookie. The best way to encourage healthy eating during lunch breaks is to allow them the opportunity to assist in the making of their lunch. Then let them help pack it into their lunch box. This becomes easy when they are selecting from a choice of lunches they have helped make then there is only a choice of good healthy lunch ideas and no pre-packaged sugar filled choices available.
It may come as a surprise to you, but allowing time it will be proven that your children’s homemade lunches will become the favorite.
I have found over the years that children have offered my son money or a swap for packaged products to have his home-baked items.

What a fantastic site! As a busy working mum of 4 i know all too well how hectic daily routines can be and how easy it is to resort to the pre packaged food for school. With the easy to follow recipes and tips i can now be comfortable in knowing my kids will be eating great tasting , healthy food. Look forward to more ideas that will definitly make my life less stressful and my kids healthier.
