ANZAC Cookies
ANZAC Day is a special day for all Australians and New Zealanders. ANZAC stands for Australia, New Zealand Army Corps. Today and every April 25th both countries stop to remember all past and present. On April 25th 1915 the ANZAC’s landed on Gallipoli Peninsula, although we had a great number of casualties and deaths over 8 long months, our ANZAC’s held strong. Creating what we know today as the ‘ANZAC Spirit’.
ANZAC Day is celebrated now with Dawn Services and Parades all over Australia and New Zealand. Prayers will be said, stories will be shared and tears will gently roll down some faces. This is a day held in the hearts off all my family as we are forever grateful for the strength of my Grandfather and Great Uncles who all fought in the War.

So on this day the smells of these yummy ANZAC cookies will be smelt from most homes and stores. Each year we make these cookies and take the opportunity to explain some history to our children.
